2024 Samuel Burleigh Scholarship Application

The Richmond Chapter will award individual scholarships to students who live in the Greater Richmond area who have been accepted to or are presently attending Hampton University.  Each scholarship will be in the amount of $1,000.

Required Criteria:

• Completed application postmarked by the stated application deadline
• Must have a GPA of 2.5 or greater
• Letter/certificate of acceptance from Hampton University (Incoming Freshmen)
• Two letters of recommendation:
  o One from an official from your school and
  o One from a religious, civic, social services or volunteer organization
• Official high school/college transcript
• Essay question: In 500 words, please respond to the following prompt:

                     What kind of positive impact do you hope to make while at Hampton University?
                     ****Essay must be 500 words, typed, double-spaced

• All criteria must be met or the applicant will not be eligible for consideration
